Our journey with an ol’ 1935 Texas Farmhouse, aka “Little House”, which inspired the vision for The Path Leading Back to Me program.

Matthew and I purchased a small, abandoned farmhouse tucked away on a fourteen acre lot in northern Texas in February 2017. The place was originally going to be for ourselves to restore and grow a family of our own, but we learned very quickly there was a much greater plan for this farmhouse that we nicknamed “The Little House on the Prairie” or “Little House” for short. It was to become a place for others. A place where they could step away from the world and find some peace.

This greater plan was presented to us after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas in August 2017. We were currently living closer to town and since the Little House was empty and many people were out of a home, we decided to rent it out.

The wonderful people we met over the next five months were extraordinary. They thanked us over and over again for providing a space that felt so tranquil and helped them recover emotionally from the stresses imposed on their lives after the hurricane.

As we went through this process, I began to see how what was unfolding with The Path Leading Back to Me, which was in it’s very beginning stages at this point in time, could be incorporated into this space. I could visualize the rooms we’d rent out for people to come away from the hustle and bustle of daily life to walk their stepping stones of the PLBTM. I felt a sense of connection in the kitchen where we’d all gather for communal meals filling our bodies with wholesome nutrients. I saw the bathroom transform into a space for Kadee Skincare where all the oils would be available for people to test out the great benefits our formulas had on the skin. The paths throughout the property would be where people could venture off to get lost in thought, play or release their emotions. It actually reminded me of the wooded area behind my childhood home where I used to roam and let my own mind wonder. (Read more about my story here)

Though we did end up selling the Little House and parting ways, it opened up my eyes to the potential for what could come in the future if I kept at it. If I continued with seer determination to succeed at this program and all it could become for those walking their Path Leading Back to Me.

An abandoned 1935 farmhouse on an overgrown, woody 14 acre property in Kenny, TX started this whole journey for Rubimond. What was meant to be a family home became a place for the community after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston in 2017. People were in great need of a safe, comfortable place to stay where they could release the major stresses that had been imposed on their lives from this disaster. Seeing the great benefits this tucked away country property had on its visitors brought to the forefront the need people had for a place away from the hustle and bustle of daily life where they could dive deeper into who they are and their healing process. This is what became the overall vision: to create self-sustaining, international healing centers that helped others walk their Path Leading Back to Me. With two grandmother’s wedding rings, the ruby and the diamond, being the inspiration behind the name, Rubimond Properties was born.
